1 Chancery Lane is a leading set for Defendant Motor Fraud Insurance work. Chambers has experience across the full range of seniority of such cases and the specific issues that this litigation gives rise to.

The area of Motor Fraud work has undergone rapid changes over recent times largely as a result of the introduction of Fixed Costs and QOWCS. The governments proposed Whiplash reforms present further uncertainty for Defendants Insurers and their solicitors. The proposals may well in fact provide greater opportunities for fraudulent claims to thrive. The need therefore for such cases to be investigated and contested rigorously but at a proportionate cost has never been more necessary.

Chambers has been at the forefront of fighting Motor Fraud cases for the last 15 years.  Members of Chambers are routinely instructed in cases involving a wide range of issues including staged accidents, fraud rings, phantom passengers and Low Velocity Impact arguments. Chambers has successfully obtained a significant number of Fundamental Dishonesty findings both pursuant to CPR 44.16 and also s.57 of the Criminal Justice and Courts Act 2015. Members of Chambers are also experienced in dealing with the subsequent Contempt proceedings.
